Since the demand for site checks was growing, I also started a offering usability analysis. I checked for things like readability, color contrasts (accessibility), loading time, wording and more. The results were publicly presented to my readers and discussed in the forum with the webmasters. The site-check was supposed to be constructive and more than just an evaluation and so there were many suggestions for improvement from other site operators.
The sites that scored the best got an award called 'Brain of the Internet'. This was not meant to be serious, but rather humorous, but the award winners took it seriously and proudly presented it on their websites :-)
Over the next 2.5 years I tested more than 70 sites until I couldn't keep up with the demand and had to end the project.
